AES Awarded 5-Year Fixed Wire Testing Contract at the University of Lancashire
We are proud to announce that we have recently been awarded a 5-year Fixed Wire Testing contract at the University of Lancashire!
What Does This Mean?
Fixed wire testing is an inspection of a building’s electrical installation. This includes the consumer units, wiring, sockets, switches and associated electrical systems. These inspections are typically required every five years to ensure installations remain safe, compliant with current regulations and free from potential electrical hazards.
Following the inspection, a detailed Electrical Installation Condition Report (EICR) is produced, outlining the condition of the electrical system and highlighting any remedial works that may be required.

About the Contract
This 5-year fixed wire testing contract ensures the University’s electrical systems are regularly inspected and maintained in line with legal and safety requirements. An EICR is a crucial document for building owners, helping them demonstrate compliance and maintain a safe environment for staff, students and visitors.
Key Advantages
Securing a long-term fixed wire testing contract provides clear benefits, including:
- Improved ongoing electrical safety
- Compliance with current regulations
- Cost efficiency through planned inspections
- Reduced risk of unexpected electrical faults or downtime

We're delighted to be working with the University of Lancashire and look forward to supporting them with reliable, compliant electrical testing over the coming years.
